2007 Fair: Fair Chair gave Board presentation regarding outcome of the 2007 KW Fair. Asked the Board to consider for next year’s KW Fair (1) increasing the admission to $5; (2) political candidates in the KW Parade; and (3) approval of the Grand Marshall for the KW Parade prior to putting anything in writing. Much discussion regarding the KW Fair by the Board
Boardmember Cogburn made the motion to approve Boardmembers Cue and Shaw to purchase a thank you gift on behalf of the KWA Board to the 2007 Fair Chair. Boardmember seconded the motion. All in favor. Motion passes unanimously.
The minutes for the April 18, 2007 meeting were read and approved with noted revision from Boardmember Cogburn that she would write the apology/regret letter to Mary Alice Cisneros campaign and that the 2007 Parade Chair made the error. Motion was made by Boardmember Cogburn to approve the minutes. Seconded by Boardmember Shafer. All in favor. The motion passed unanimously.
Finance Committee and Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer’s Report was submitted by Treasurer Gretchen Garceau-Kragh to the Board this evening by hard copy. Discussion followed. Motion made by Boardmember Shafer to accept the treasurer’s report as presented. Seconded by Boardmember Cogburn. All in favor. The motion passed unanimously.
Graffiti: Boardmember Shafer reported on letter from Southtown.
ARC: Boardmember Heidelberg wants to review bylaws and rules.
Parking: Boardmember Heidelberg stated that Boardmember Erickson is currently out of the country on vacation and will revise the survey and resubmit to residents for their feedback.
Parks Update: Boardmember Heidelberg stated that the Eagleland project meeting was postponed, that the Crofton Park was funded with $100,000 funded by the City. No further Board discussion.
Motion by Boardmember Cogburn to approve $25 dollar donation to Willa Mae to attend the People to People Conference.. Seconded by Boardmember Heidelberg. All in favor. Motion passes unanimously.
Bonham Celebration: Boardmember Shafer would like to host a celebration on behalf of Bonham Elementary School securing their Charter status. Boardmember Shafer made the motion to have the KWA fund $500 for this upcoming celebration. Boardmember Cue seconded the motion. All in favor. Motion passes unanimously.
Boardmember Strauss made the motion to increase the number of free beverage tickets to residents at the monthly general meetings from one beverage ticket per person to two beverage tickets per person. Seconded by Boardmember Garza. All in favor. Motion passes unanimously.
Motion by Boardmember Cogburn to purchase an amplifying sound system to be used at KWA monthly general meetings and/or quarterly KWA socials. Seconded by Boardmember Cue. All in favor. Motion passes unanimously.
